Capacities

Our goal is to serve you. We impose these limits to help everyone share fairly. (really)

We enforce most limits automatically. You don't have to make a special effort to comply. Sadly, if you go over a limit, something may fail without warning.

If a resource isn't specifically listed here, it doesn't mean that it is OK to over-burden our systems and slow everyone else down. We reserve the right to ration, restrict or remove any resource (or user!). You might also want to check our Terms and Conditions or our Guidelines.

If you start to bump up against limits, please give us a call at 978-934-4350 or send a email to help@thecsl.org. We'll see what we can work out. If you've got $200 to buy more disc space for everyone, things will probably go well. If you have lots of temporary files to delete, we'll expect you to do that.

Limits apply per organization. We get to define what an organization is:

Tech Support

If a service we provide is broken, the odds are good we'll work as long as needed to bring the service back up. If the network cable in the back of your computer was accidentally pulled out, we will not travel to your office to put it back in. In most cases, we'll work with you to help pinpoint problems, but ultimately we get to decide what is our problem and what is not.

Generally there is somebody in the office (978) 934-4350 M-F 9:00am - 5:00pm. Generally there is somebody answering the help@thecsl.org email.

We've always done at least as well as commercial hosting providers on tech support. However, there are no guarantees. There may not be more than one person working on tech support. We are largely run by volunteers and sometimes it is hard to get people to volunteer for tech support.

If you need guaranteed access to tech support, We can refer you to people who provide this service for a fee.

Training

is as important as hosting. Sadly, we don't have the resources to provide both free training and free hosting. For $35 per year, LTC.org (one of our sponsors) lets you take many classes on web and media design.

The UMass Lowell Continuing Education program offers more advanced (and more expensive) training. Many people believe this training is worth the money. For other people (Senior citizens, veterans, and some people working in non profit organizations) this training is free.
